A Little Piece of Paradise in a Card

If you’re dreaming of sandy beaches, tropical sunsets, and island paradise, today’s card might be just the getaway you need! I had so much fun creating this cheerful beach scene using components from the Spellbinders All-Clubs Crate.

A Tropical Escape

The focus of the card is an adorable hula-dancing Penguin in Paradise who looks right at home on the shoreline. Surrounded by ocean waves and warm tropical colors, this little penguin is as cute as a button.

For the background, I created a sunset sky by blending Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Inks. Adding even more island-inspired texture, I embossed the ink-blended panel with the Island Style 3D Embossing Folder.

I cut the waves using a die from Hand Folded Stitch die set, which was from a previous club last summer. The sandy beach is finished with a fun directional sign pointing the way to all the best island destinations: “cocktails,” “beach,” and “luau.” It’s part of the Clear Stamps & Dies of the Month, This Way to Rainbows.

Finishing Thoughts

I love how the bright sunset colors contrast with the cool blue waves, while the textured background gives the entire card extra depth and interest. The combination of whimsical die cuts and tropical elements makes this card feel like a mini vacation tucked into an envelope.
