Today I’m sharing another card made with Hot Rod Flames, part of Mindy Eggen’s Classic Road Legends 2.0 series. I’ve had so much fun with this die set that I ended up creating a whole stack of greeting cards perfect for the masculine side of my family!
Foiling Makes it Shine!
While this car is similar to the one from my previous post, I changed up the flames and added a shimmery foiled Radiant Starburst behind it. The Prism Foil is hard to photograph because it’s holographic, but in real life, it’s a bit less vibrant than the pictures show. As the light catches it, the foil shifts through a rainbow of colors, creating a fun backdrop that really enhances the hot rod theme.
I used Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to foil the starburst and it was cut out with a circle die from Speedometer Etched Dies.

For the car itself, I kept the design clean and bold, cutting it from Waterfall and Teal Topaz ColorWheel Cardstock. The flames were cut from white and then ink blended with Lost Shadow, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot Distress Oxide Inks.
Masculine Cards Made Easy
The layered die cuts make it easy to customize each vehicle, and simply changing the colors of the flames gives the card a completely different look and feel. That’s one of my favorite things about this collection—it’s incredibly versatile and offers endless opportunities for personalization.
To keep the focus on the car, I paired it with a simple Cruisin’ By Sentiment and let the foiled starburst provide the extra wow factor. The combination of sleek metallic shine and classic hot rod styling creates a card that’s perfect for birthdays, Father’s Day, or any occasion that calls for a masculine design.

I glued the foiled circle onto a 2.5″ x 5″ panel of Fog ColorWheel Cardstock which was adhered to an A2 panel of darker gray cardstock. The A2 panel was textured with Solar Flare embossing folder.
A Nostalgic Collection
If you’ve been looking for products that make masculine cards easier to create, the Classic Road Legends Collections (both original and 2.0) are definitely worth exploring. The detailed dies, customizable elements, and nostalgic automotive theme make it simple to build cards that are both eye-catching and fun to make.
Until next time,
~Krista
