Apparently, I wasn’t quite finished playing with the Trinity Stamps Arcade Machine Builder Dies! After making my first arcade birthday card, I couldn’t resist creating another one.
A Larger Arcade Birthday Card
I made this card a little larger at 5″ x 7″, which gave me plenty of room to build an entire arcade scene around the machine. This time, I decided to have some fun with a completely different color combination of pink, peach and blue, inspired by Color Cube card #379.
After deciding on the color theme, I die cut the arcade pieces adding gray and white as neutral shades. The ColorWheel Cardstock colors I used were:
- Windy ColorWheel Cardstock
- Malibu ColorWheel Cardstock
- Cosmic Sky ColorWheel Cardstock
- Tutu ColorWheel Cardstock
- Anchor ColorWheel Cardstock
- Classic White ColorWheel Cardstock
- Pale Papaya, a retired Stampin’ Up cardstock
I used 8 Bit Birthday to stamp the sentiment on the screen using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder. Once everything was pieced together, I set it aside to work on the card base.
A Scene From the 80’s
I wanted to create a scene reminiscent of an arcade that I frequented back in the 80’s. This arcade was inside of a pizza parlor and had brick walls with dim lighting. I spent many quarters while there, hanging out with friends and living the best life! To recreate that scene, I used Spellbinder’s Brick by Brick 3D Embossing Folder with a 5″ x 7″ panel of white cardstock.
After embossing the bricks, I added a woodgrain floor that was stamped with My Favorite Things stamp set, On Solid Ground. Unfortunately, that company is no longer in business, but there’s a similar set from Sunny Studios called Sprawling Surfaces. I love having scene-building sets like this on hand.
My arcade birthday backdrop was coming along, but it needed something more. I pulled out Lawn Fawn’s Sunray Background Stencil and used Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Ink to quickly add some colorful light beams.
Finally, it was time to add the arcade game, and I adhered it directly to the center of the scene. I was pleased with the final look and happy that it brought back some great memories! I hope it does the same for you.

I wanted to continue the playful arcade birthday theme from the front, and with the help of 8 Bit Birthday and 8 Bit Alphabet, I was able to finish the inside. The sentiment says, “Happy Birthday, to celebrate a new level, press play. I added a couple of Pac-Man characters at the bottom, which just makes me smile. 🙂
I think that’s a pretty fun way to look at getting another year older! Instead of counting the years, why not think of each birthday as unlocking another level?
These arcade-themed products are definitely proving to be a lot of fun. I have a feeling I may not be finished creating arcade birthday cards just yet!
