Hello Friends! Today I’m playing along with the Lawn Fawn Dies Only Challenge #221. I’ve had this idea rolling around in my head for a couple weeks and knew I had to get it made!

A Challenge to Die For 🙂
There’s something so satisfying about creating a card using only dies, and the latest Lawn Fawn Challenge was the perfect excuse to dive into all the layers and textures! For this “Dies Only” challenge, I created a cheerful tulip-themed card filled with springtime charm.
Stitching a Focal Point
The star of the card is a stitched tulip that was made with the Embroidery Hoop Die and one of Lawn Fawn’s free stitch patterns. I cut the embroidery circle from white cardstock and then stitched with DMC threads in #’s 906, 907, 208, 210 & 550. The frame matches the green stitching, tying everything together.

I then used Build a Barrel: Apple dies to create a spot for my stitched tulip to rise up from. The barrel body was cut from Woodgrain Cardstock with a darker brown for the accents.
Softly Rounded Corners
Everything was arranged on a Stitched Rounded Rectangle die cut from Lawn Fawn’s Spiffy Speckles paper. The subtle speckled pattern adds just enough interest while still allowing the tulips and florals to shine. I cut one from both green and lavender and then trimmed the green piece with Simple Stitched Hillside Borders. This provided the perfect backdrop for my little scene.

As an addition to the scene, I tucked some florals around the barrel to create a lush garden feel and add extra pops of color. These were cut using dies from Tree House.
A Lack of Word Dies
Finally, I needed to add a sentiment, and this is where I became stumped! While I do have one of Lawn Fawn’s alphabet sets, the letters were a bit too large. Realizing that I don’t own many of their die-cut words, I ended up using Scripty XOXO which will be perfect for sending love to a friend! It was cut from white cardstock and then inked with two shades of purple. Note to self: order more word dies!! 🙂
This challenge really reminded me how much can be accomplished with dies alone. By layering shapes, textures, and patterned papers, you can create a card that feels detailed and dimensional without ever reaching for stamps. If you enjoy stitched cards, you can see another embroidery hoop card that I shared here.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope this card inspires you to pull out your favorite dies and join in on the fun of the Lawn Fawn Dies Only Challenge!
