A Set of 3 Cute Halloween Cards

Are you looking for a cute & not-so-spooky Halloween option for card making? Simon Hurley has a great new collection called “Halloween Hugs” with 3 characters, plus an additional set, the exclusive Sir Skeleton. These lovable characters are just oozing sweetness, and I love them so much that I’ll be sharing three cards today.

Dracula, or is it Drac?

The first card I’m sharing was made with Simon Hurley’s Drac Die Set. I paired it with the August 3D Embossing Folder of the Month, Spooky Web, and a previous Large Die of the Month from January 2026, Hummingbirds Delight.

I chose the colors using Sarah Renee Clarke’s Color Cubes, card #159, shown below. I have been using these Color Cubes so much since I got them, and they’ve helped me stretch beyond my normal color combos. It’s become an enjoyable part of my crafting experience, as I look through the cubes in search of my next color inspiration! While they are a splurge (ahem: investment!), I don’t regret purchasing them. 🙂

ColorWheel Cardstock colors used:

• Pomegranate
• Carrot
• Bees Wax
• Mulberry
• Fog
• Raven
• Classic White

Because the dies create etched lines for placement, it’s easy to piece together in a jiffy.

Frankenstein

…or Frank, in this case! My second card features an adorable Frankenstein (Frank Die Set), complete with spiders. I love how the Halloween Hugs die sets include extra pieces like the trick-or-treat pumpkin and spiders which help in setting the scene. Each character comes with its own extras but they’re all interchangable.

This time I chose Color Cube card, #441, using the following ColorWheel Cardstock:

• Violet
• Mulberry
• Fairytale
• Rain Forest
• Fawn
• Alabaster
• Raven
• Classic White

The spiders were cut from black glittered paper from Onyx Assorted Treasured Cardstock. For some great texture, I used both designs from the 3D embossing folder, Spooky Web.

Sir Skeleton

Last but not least, my third card shows an adorable Sir Skeleton complete with a top hat! I brought in some spider webs from Yana’s Halloween City Holiday die set for some added interest.

I used colors found on Color Cube’s card #383 with the following selections of ColorWheel Cardstock:

• Wild Berry
• Tutu
• Pomegranate
• Fog
• Raven

Once again, I used the Hummingbirds Delight Dies to create the backdrop, as well as Spooky Web 3D Embossing Folder.

3 Cards Full of Cuteness!

I inked the edges of pretty much everything for all three of today’s cards. I think this adds some dimension but it’s certainly optional.

These Halloween Hugs cards were super fun and pretty quick to make. I love the “poloroid” backdrop created with the Hummingbirds Delight Dies and I find that I reach for this set quite often.
