I’m always in need of children’s birthday cards and it seems like I can never get ahead! So, with the current Lawnfawnatics Challenge in mind, I created today’s card which is perfect for a girl’s birthday! The theme for challenge #227 is “Fun with Food”, so I went with unicorns sharing a sundae in the clouds! Don’t all girls love a cute unicorn?!?

A Unicorn Picnic
I began with a white panel measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ and used a Cloud Stencil with Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo and Tumbled Glass. Using my favorite blender brushes, I quickly made a tri-colored cloudy sky.
I then splattered the panel with some Starry Watercolors in a soft gold color, which added just the right amount of glam!
All of the stamp images are from Unicorn Party, including the sentiment “have a magical day”.
Coloring Made Easy
I used Ohuhu Alcohol Markers to color everything in. I kept the coloring simple without any shading or extra work, making this a very quick card.
I used All the Speech Bubbles for the sentiment that’s inside the cloud.
Once I had all of the pieces ready, I glued them into place and then mounted the cloud panel onto a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of pink diagonal striped paper from Really Rainbow, 12 x 12.
Quick & Easy
I love how simple this card is and how quickly it went together. I’m looking forward to making more kids cards so I can stock up, but here’s another one I recently made: Make a Splash!
