There’s nothing better than finding inspiration from the crafting community, and this card was sparked by several creative makers who used pool floaties in their designs. I absolutely love how the previous club product, Summertime Wade Pool, works with the adorable Summer Camp critters, and I couldn’t wait to put my own spin on the idea.
A Summertime Scene
For my version, I created a playful summertime scene featuring the raccoon from the Trailside Trio Dies enjoying a cool escape from the summer heat. My card began with an A2 sized panel cut from Lawn Fawn’s Watercolor Wishes, Carnelian 12×12 paper. I cut my panel from the bottom area where it’s more orange than red and embossed it with the May Embossing Folder of the Month, Radiant Day.

I then ink blended over the textured panel using Ripe Persimmon and Festive Berries Distress Oxide Ink and a finger dauber. The dauber allowed me to adjust the pressure, only inking the raised areas.
Adding Water and Movement
To build the watery background, I combined the Underwater Tunnel die set with the Underwater Waltz 3D Embossing Folder. The three water layers were cut from Celestial, Cascade and Windy ColorWheel Cardstock. The center layer was textured with the embossing folder and adds so much movement and dimension, making the whole scene feel bright and refreshing.

A Perfect Summertime Greeting
Once everything was pieced together on the card front, I added a couple greetings from Summertime Sentiments stamp set. Finally, I scattered some sequins around and glued them into place.
Versatile Products
I love how versatile these products are together. Even though they were designed for entirely different collections, mixing and matching them creates an entirely new look. The raccoon looks perfectly at home splashing around and soaking up a carefree summer day. If you can’t get enough of these adorable critters, check out my previous posts: A Misty Morning and Critters on the Beach.
This card was such a fun reminder that inspiration can come from a quick browse on Pinterest, Instagram and the like. And sometimes revisiting older products with fresh eyes leads to the most creative combinations.
Until next time,
~Krista
