It’s Christmas in July over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog and today I’m playing along with their newest challenge #224. Here’s their graphic to help set the stage for my card!

My initial thought was to keep things clean and simple, but that’s not where I ended up going! LOL! As typically happens when I create, I ended up going over-board. I went with a Magic Iris card using the Snowflake Add-On and paired it with Caroling Mice and a few others.
Watch the action!
Here’s a video of my card, showing the Magic Iris window in action:
Magic Iris-it’s not so difficult!
I began with the Magic Iris Add-On Dies, cutting the front panel from Spiffier Speckles paper which has gold splatters on a blue background. This is one of my favorite Lawn Fawn papers and I love that it’s also available individually! I also cut the arrow handle from it.

Next, I used the Magic Iris Dies to cut the moving mechanism from white cardstock. (You can watch a video on YouTube to see how easy this is to put together.) When I first bought the dies, I made a sample, taking step by step notes, and saving them for future reference.
Christmas in July with Caroling Mice
Once the mechanism was assembled, I die cut the Magic Iris Snowflake Add-On Die from white cardstock. I then glued it around the circle window on the blue panel. I then assembled everything to the back of the blue panel and using foam tape, I secured the panel to a navy card base.
Finally, it was time to add some cuteness. I used stamps from Caroling Mice, Snow Globe Scenes, & Cheesy Christmas.
Everything was colored in with Ohuhu Alcohol Markers, which are a joy to use and cheap enough that I bought the biggest set! 🙂 I then placed the caroling mice through the open Magic Iris window, gluing them to the navy card base.

After arranging the mice, tree, gifts, bench and lamppost to the bottom of the card front, I stamped a sentiment onto two Simple Wavy Banners. I used the smallest banner twice and trimmed each one down after stamping the words. I placed these above the Magic Iris window along with some musical notes.
In summary,
Interactive cards are so fun to make and receive, don’t you agree? Here’s another Magic Iris card that I previously shared: All Things Rainbow.
