Summer Camp Critters on the Beach

I had a blast creating this fun slimline card featuring two of Spellbinders’ adorable Summer Camp critters! This sweet little scene brings together a cozy beach campfire, a glowing sunset, and all the relaxing summer vibes.

A Perfect Oceanside Setting

For the background, I used the Just Beachy Slimline Paper Pack from Whimsy Stamps to create the perfect oceanside setting. The warm sandy beach and peaceful shoreline made the ideal backdrop for this sunset gathering. While I’ve had this paper pack in my stash for quite some time, I instantly knew that they’d be perfect with the Summer Camp Bundle! I can’t wait to make more!

Summer Camp: Woodland Trio

Front and center are the darling hedgehog and deer, enjoying a quiet evening by the fire. They’re both from the Woodland Trio Dies and they’re roasting marshmallows over the campfire. I added a cocktail for the deer made with Sending Hugs-Congrats Cat Dies. I gave the hedgehog a bottle of beer which was made with dies from Classic Kicks Dies, and I trimmed it down to make it fit the scene better. These drinks make the whole scene feel playful and carefree.

I added the glowing fire using dies from Camp Days which also includes the s’mores and clothing for the hedgehog. The deer’s swimming suit was cut with dies from Splash Days.

I debated between a multitude of sentiments from the Summer Sentiments stamp set and finally decided on “Happy birthday, and many s’more”.

In Summary

Overall, I think the Summer Camp Bundle is going to have endless creative opportunities and I’m crossing my fingers for more clothing and accessories in a future release. Pretty please? I especially love how the slimline format allows the entire scene to stretch across the card, giving plenty of room for all the little storytelling details. It feels like a snapshot from the perfect summer evening spent with friends by the ocean.
