Santa’s New Ride: A Fun Beep Beep Mobile!

Who says Santa has to travel in a sleigh? Today, he’s delivering Christmas in his very own Beep Beep Mobile—and he couldn’t be any cuter! The Beep Beep Die Set from Hero Arts is just the beginning of the fun. This collection includes several adorable add-on sets that let you customize the little car and turn it into all kinds of fun seasonal scenes.

Finding Color Inspiration

For my card, I knew that I wanted to veer away from traditional Christmas colors, so I opened up a Color Cube for inspiration. I decided to go with card #301, shown in the picture. With tones of blue, pink and lavender, I knew this card would be fun to make!

Die-Cutting a Scene

I started by die cutting the pieces for the car from Celestial ColorWheel Cardstock. Accents were cut from Indigo, Windy and Classic White cardstock.

Of course, Santa needed to be along for the ride! He was die cut from Lavender, Classic White and a shimmery white cardstock. His face is cut from Chiffon, which is the perfect pale flesh-tone. I cut his cheeks and nose from white and then colored them with an Ohuhu Alcohol Marker, # RV270. I tucked him into the driver’s seat and added a load of Christmas goodies to help set the scene. I think he looks quite adorable in lavender, don’t you?

Beep Beep Holiday Extras

Next to Santa is a pink Christmas tree, die cut with Beep Beep Holiday Extras Die Set. It was cut from Blush cardstock and is decorated with shimmering white and pink ornaments and topped with a star. After tucking it into the seat next to Santa, I continued with the Holiday Extras Die Set and added a toy sack cut from Indigo. It is tied shut with a Lavender string.

Using the Beep Beep Holiday Extras once again, I made the string of lights and a bow to decorate the front of the car. I love how festive it looks!

A Background from the North Pole

To create the background, I textured a panel of Windy ColorWheel Cardstock using the Whimsical Skies 3D Embossing Folder. This gave the sky a blustery look which I just love! I can almost feel the icy air swirling past Santa! I used scissors to cut a snowy base for the card to drive on and adhered the piece at the bottom of the textured panel.

Finally, I chose a sentiment from Hero Arts Winter Words Press & Foil set which says, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. I used navy ink with the BetterPress Letterpress System and then cut it with the coordinating die. This was glued at the top of the card, above Santa and his car.

Inside the Card

To completely finish my card, I needed to do something on the inside. I chose another sentiment from Winter Wishes, as well as a wreath from the Beep Beep Extras Die Set. Quick, easy and DONE! I love it when a card goes together smoothly from start to finish-don’t you?

I especially love that the Beep Beep Die Set can be used year-round with its coordinating sets and more. I am already imagining other characters and things that can fill the car, and I can’t wait to make a variety of cards. I’m thinking of other holidays, birthdays, summer and so on.
