Can we talk about how adorable these hummingbirds are?! Spellbinders totally nailed it with this month’s Large Die of the Month, Hummingbirds Delight. These tiny birds are beyond cute, an absolute joy to create with, and a big reason why this turned into one of the most loved club months ever!
This die set includes two hummingbirds, along with a Polaroid-style frame with postage stamp edges (A2 in size), a daisy border, leaves and a honeysuckle blossom. The layering is intuitive, making it easy to experiment with color combinations and finishes. Add dimension with ink blending, shine with glitter or metallic cardstock, or keep it classic with solid colors.
A Silhouette Scene
For today’s first card, I wanted the frame and flowers to appear in silhouette, so I die cut the frame and daisies from black cardstock. This allowed a single hummingbird to truly take center stage. I pieced it together after die cutting from the following ColorWheel Cardstock colors: Peridot, Rainforest, Lavender and Lilac. Additionally, I used foam tape to pop it up on the night sky backdrop. The sky was ink blended with Distress Oxide inks in Salvaged Patina, Peacock Feathers and Uncharted Mariner.

I used the Stamps & Dies of the Month, Best Year Sentiments, to create the “thank you” sentiment. It was stamped with black ink onto Rainforest cardstock and then die cut. This set is among my favorites because of the beautiful font and the intricate dies that coordinate with it.
In the end, I decided to add a touch of sparkle to the daisies with a Clear Wink of Stella glitter marker. The result was instant, subtle and just what the card needed!

Sweet Honeysuckle & Hummingbirds
The second card that I’m sharing began with a panel of Seaside ColorWheel Cardstock. I textured it with Cloud Nine, the Embossing Folder of the Month (January 2026). I had the hardest time photographing this card! The colors just wouldn’t look right. After several attempts of switching out backgrounds, lighting and editing I was grudgingly and somewhat satisfied. But they’re not perfect 🙁

Setting the scene
I die cut the daisy border from Rainforest, White, and Beeswax cardstock, along with a softer yellow pulled from my stash. Additionally, I shaded the greenery with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide inks, which added depth and nicely framed the bottom of the card.
For the honeysuckle, I cut the flower from white cardstock and softly blended Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink to create dimension. Continuing on, I cut the stamen from Beeswax cardstock for a subtle pop of color.

Once again, I turned to the Best Year Sentiments set to stamp and die cut the word “Smile.” After a couple of wrong color choices, I stamped it on white cardstock using a purple ink that ties in beautifully with the rest of the design.
Finally, I assembled two hummingbirds using the same color palette as the first card. Since hummingbirds are naturally so shimmery, I added Star Dust Stickles Glitter Glue to their wings—and wow, what a difference! The sparkle truly brings them to life.
Hummingbirds are flying
This Hummingbirds Delight die set is literally flying off the shelves, so don’t hesitate-get them while you can! With this being such a versatile set, you need it in your stash! Admittedly, I’m in love! And if birds are your thing, consider the Cheerful Chirps Collection that I first introduced in this post: Greetings from Pretty Birds.
What are you going to create today?
