I’m still splashing around with the August Caboodle, Beneath the Blue! It’s packed with ocean treasures and sea-inspired goodness—absolutely perfect for sending a wave of cheer. This month’s clubs are making a real splash, and I’m loving every bit of it!
Another thing that I absolutely LOVE, is that the August clubs were designed to work with some previous club dies, Whale in a Bottle, from June 2023. How cool is that?!? So today, I’ve combined the Whale in a Bottle die with the August Die of the Month, “The Deep Blue Two”.

The Whale in a Bottle die can be used to cut the actual card base, so that’s what I did for today’s card. By laying the die on top of a folded card stock base and making sure the left side of the die is just past the fold, you get a bottle shaped card!
I chose a peachy-pink color for the sky, hoping to achieve a sunset appearance. I then cut the waves from multiple blues and white, piecing them together on the card.
After a quick few minutes in front of my die-cutting machine, I easily cut out all of the pieces for the scuba divers and sea life. If you’re not used to layering dies, it can feel a bit daunting at first, but Spellbinders offers helpful videos for many of their products! After watching one or two, you’ll be a paper-piecing pro in no time!

Even though I’ve never strapped on scuba gear myself, I’ve got family who love exploring under the sea—and I know these ocean-themed cards will be a splash hit with them! I absolutely love playing with all the bright colors, happily bending reality a bit to bring my whimsical underwater worlds to life.
I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card with its playful ocean scene and if you’d like to see more, consider subscribing to my blog! You can also view my previous ocean-themed cards, “Creating Nautical Themed Cards” and “Nautical Cards for the Ladies”.
Until next time,
~Krista
