Today’s card started out in an entirely different direction from where it ended up. I wanted to create something with Spellbinders Small Die of the Month, Unstoppable, which has a super woman character. Using traditional super hero colors of red, white, navy & yellow, I made my card but I just didn’t love it. There wasn’t anything wrong with it, but my creative juices weren’t satisfied! Back to the drawing board I went.
Super Woman in Silhouette
That’s when I came up with the idea of using the super woman dies in silhouette! I proceeded to cut all of her pieces out of black cardstock and then glued her together. Now where to place her? How about the beach! Yes indeed, that’s where I wanted her to be! On a sandy beach with waves lapping at her feet which is truly my favorite place to be.
Digging through my paper stash, I found a pattern that looked like waves. I cut a 2″ x 4.25″ strip and then tore along the bottom edge, creating some white sea foam. This paper was purchased at Hobby Lobby in a 6×6 stack by The Paper Studio, called Snow Pine and it made a perfect ocean for my card!!

To create a sandy beach, I cut a piece of tan cardstock, 1.5″ x 4.25″, and then splattered it with black and white paint. Once dry, I ink blended the edges with some brown ink. I then adhered it behind the bottom edge of the ocean piece.
Sunset on the Beach
Sunsets on the beach are always beautiful (that’s a fact!) and that’s the look I went for. I trimmed a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Rainbow Ever After-Fairy Godmother 12×12 paper to 5.5″ x 4.25″. I buy 24 sheets of this paper at a time, because I use so much of it!! Next, I decided to splattered just a tiny bit of white paint onto this panel for added interest. Once dry, I stamped some seagulls from Waffle Flower, Postage Collage Beach Days stamps.

Continuing on, I glued the ocean/beach piece to the bottom of the sunset panel and placed the whole thing in my MISTI, stamp positioner. I was going to stamp the sentiment from Good Times (Clear Stamp of the Month-MAR26) directly onto the background and wanted to make sure I got a good, crisp result. Using a stamp positioner allows you to re-stamp an image, flawlessly!
Finally, I glued the super woman silhouette into place. With her feet firmly planted in the sand, she is looking out to sea- a woman of strength and resolve. I love how this card came to life while truly filling my creative itch! If you want more silhouette card ideas, see my previous post: Make Amazing Cards…
