Stay saucy, my friend! Nothing says love as well as gift cards to that favorite Italian restaurant! As mentioned in my previous post, Spellbinders makes the presentation easy with the new Tabbed Classics Collection and Essential Envelope duo.
Today I’m showing my 2-4-6-8 card which is full of Italian charm and will hold a gift card beautifully! With cute Stay Saucy puns and adorable Pasta Friends, this card will surely bring a smile to the recipient!

Simple instructions for making a 2-4-6-8 card…
Step 1: Cut a piece of cardstock or patterned paper measuring 5.25” x 12”. I chose a yellow floral piece that has a lovely black & white gingham on the back. This is a great way to use your stash of double-sided 12 x 12 paper!
Step 2: Score this cut panel from the 12” side at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”. Fold on the score lines in an accordion fashion, using a bone folder to make nice creases. From the 2” score you’ll fold as mountain, then continue with valley, mountain, valley.
Step 3: Cut a card stock panel measuring 5.5” x 4.25”. I chose a dark red panel that I thought would go nicely with the accordion piece. Adhere the 4 inch section of the accordion panel to this card stock panel. This will be the card base.
Step 4: Choose a shape for the embellishments that will serve as focal points on the accordion sections. I used stitched rectangle dies, but circles work great too! Try a variety of shapes and see what looks good.
Step 5: Finish decorating your 2-4-6-8 card however you please!
Making this perfect for gift cards…
Customize your card to fit a theme and then tuck appropriate gift cards into its own little pocket!
To finish my card, I used elements from Spellbinders Buon Appetito Collection, making this perfect for an Italian restaurant gift card.

I added a gift card pocket that was made with Essential Envelopes and its companion set, Essential Envelopes Every Day Add-Ons.

I chose two Pasta Friends characters, placing one on each of the stitched rectangles. Next to each one is a sentiment from Stay Saucy stamp set. These were stamped on black card stock and heat embossed in white.

I picked a third pasta friend to decorate the gift card pocket. It was glued to a vellum scalloped circle, then attached it to the pocket with an action wobble spring. Now this adorable ravioli has some playful movement—he literally dances!
See it in ACTION, below…
I had so much fun creating this Italian themed card and cannot wait to use it! (I know exactly who’s getting some Olive Garden gift cards!)
Give this 2-4-6-8 card a try and find out just how fun and easy they can be.
Until next time,
~Krista
