If you’re anything like me, the moment October arrives, I can practically hear sleigh bells jingling in the distance. Christmas crafting season is here—and Spellbinders is making sure we’re ready with their brand-new October Clubs! This month’s kits are packed with festive cheer, but I just have to shine the spotlight on the Stitching Die of the Month: Peppermint Prancer. Trust me, this little reindeer is going to steal your crafty heart.

Not only can Prancer hang out on the included ornament, but he would be perfect on a wreath, over a fence, peeking through a window or any number of other places!
What makes Peppermint Prancer so irresistible? For starters, it combines everything we love about holiday crafting—whimsy, tradition, and a touch of sparkle. The reindeer die is beautifully detailed, with a stitched nose, giving you the perfect excuse to play with metallic threads, bold holiday colors, or even soft neutrals. Whether you’re making cards, tags, or even ornaments, this die is versatile enough to prance right into all your holiday projects.
I personally fell in love with this reindeer because he looks exactly like a stuffed version that we have placed within the limbs of our Christmas tree for the last 41 years. My husband and I named ours “Randolph” and he took on the role as our “elf on the shelf” when our children were little. Even our grandchildren know that Randolph is watching!
Card #1
Creating a peppermint ornament…

Today’s card went together quickly, as there’s very little stitching involved. Not into stitching? Then skip the stitching portions (they’re optional!) and your creations will go together even faster!
I began by texturing the green background with Dimpled 3D embossing folder and then gluing the panel to a white card base. Next I die cut a white ornament, followed by four red triangles that would be inserted onto the ornament once the stitching was complete. Using red and green DMC threads, I quickly stitched and assembled the ornament.
Creating Prancer…
My next step was to die cut the pieces needed for Prancer, and these were cut from three different shades of brown, plus a nice bright red for the nose! With a light touch of pink for the inner ears and a green sprig of holly, I was ready to stitch and assemble! I also added some cute wiggly eyes, giving Prancer extra personality!

Putting it all together…
Before adhering anything to the card base, I first attached Prancer to the ornament with a foam dot. This allowed me to put both parts onto the card at once and made placement a bit more precise.
Next I added the letters “J” and “Y” on either side of the ornament, creating the word “JOY”. Finally, I placed a ruby red gem onto Prancer’s nose, completing this card with some beautiful sparkle!
Card #2
Creating a Glittery Peppermint Prancer card…

My second card is quite similar to the first, with the exception of Prancer’s unstitched nose, and an ornament with lots of gold!
I began with a red card base onto which I placed a die cut postage rectangle. This was cut from Merry Moments designer paper and backed with a green mat.
The ornament was cut from green card stock and then four gold glittered triangles were added to every other section. Stitching was done with gold DMC thread on only the green sections of the ornament.
Prancer was die cut and assembled as for card #1, except that I did not add the stitching detail to his nose.
Finally, the sentiment banner is from the Caboodle Club Bonus item and says “Believe in magic”.
The fun doesn’t stop with Peppermint Prancer!
October’s full lineup of Spellbinders Clubs offers something for every style—whether you’re all about intricate die cutting, stamping, or layering up gorgeous glimmer foil designs. Pair Peppermint Prancer with this month’s coordinating dies, embossing folders, or BetterPress plates, and you’ll have a sleigh-full of creative possibilities.
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to join the clubs, this is it. The October kits are festive, fresh, and guaranteed to make your holiday crafting sparkle. Peppermint Prancer is ready to leap right into your projects—are you ready to stitch along?
