Sending Hugs: Party Panda!
My son, Kyle, plays guitar like a pro, so music is a big part of his life. That’s probably why, the moment I laid eyes on the adorable Sending Hugs Collection from Spellbinders, I knew exactly what I wanted to do—one of them had to be a guitarist! With Kyle’s birthday coming up, I set to work creating this fun card.
For this project, the star of the show is the party panda from the Birthday Bear Dies. There’s just something about that panda’s cheerful expression that makes it perfect for a fun, music-filled card!
Sending Hugs through music…
To bring the idea to life, I paired it with the Mini Guitar Etched Dies, creating a guitar that’s full of color and personality. Instead of sticking to a single shade, I used orange, red and teal cardstock colors to build a multi-colored guitar. Creating the scene…
The background starts with a bold two-tone look—black at the base and gray above—embossed with the Brick by Brick 3D Embossing Folder for a textured, urban feel. I softly blended black ink around the edges of the gray section to create a moody finish.
Paired with this setting, the panda instantly transforms into a night-club performer. This bear isn’t just cute—it’s on stage and absolutely rockin’ it. 🎸
In short, what I love most about this project is how personal it feels. Crafting isn’t just about putting supplies together; it’s about capturing moments and memories in paper form. This little guitar-playing panda reminds me of listening to my son practice, watching him grow more confident with every chord. The memories are so sweet.
