November’s Stitching Die of the Month from Spellbinders is bringing all the fashion and the fluff! This month’s design, Fur-ever Fabulous, combines two irresistible things—a chic stitched handbag and a sweet little pup peeking out from inside. 🪡 About the Die Set
The Fur-ever Fabulous set includes a beautifully detailed purse base, complete with stitched panels, handles, and hardware accents, plus an adorable dog that tucks perfectly inside. I love that the purse can be cut with or without the stitching holes, allowing for the use of patterned paper when desired. Whether you go for a sleek designer look or something more whimsical, this set has endless possibilities for color and texture combinations.
🎨 Choosing the Colors
For my card, I went with bright, bold colors—a bold purple purse with tone-on-tone purple stitching and a tan pup wearing a red and white sweater. You could easily swap in soft, neutral hues for a subtle fashion statement, or classic black and white for a high-end designer vibe.
✂️ Stitching & Assembly
I started by die-cutting the purse from Lavender and Lilac ColorWheel Cardstock, then used a matching lavender embroidery floss to bring the design to life. The stitching gives the piece gorgeous dimension and texture—like real quilted leather!
The little dog was cut from Fawn cardstock with Alabaster accents on the face and ears. He was then dressed in a red Pomegranate sweater, trimmed in White.
To give everything a polished finish, I added shiny gold accents on the purse handle. It’s those little details that make this die set shine!
💌 Fur-ever Fabulous Card Design
For the background, I kept things simple to let the stitched elements take center stage. A soft Fairytale panel, embossed with Faceted Petals, works beautifully behind the purse. I added a sentiment that reads “Good things come in small packages” which comes from the Cats & Pugs Sentiments stamp set.
A few red hearts tie everything together for a look that’s both stylish and sweet.
