Hi again, friends! It’s still Christmas in July in my craftroom and I’m thrilled to be sharing one of Spellbinder’s newest releases, North Pole Sentiments. As part of the Simon Hurley North Pole Friends Collection, these festive friends make the holidays bright!
I’ve chosen bright, bold colors for my wintery scene which sits upon a 5” x 7” panel of Gleeful Gradients paper. This new Lawn Fawn paper has quickly risen as my #1 “go-to” for scenery backgrounds! With its subtle shift in colors, creating moody skies is made easy. Available in two sizes, it offers tons of creative opportunities.

To bring the snowy scene to life, I used another of my go-to favorites—Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Hillside Borders—to cut layers of white cardstock into soft, rolling drifts of snow.

I used North Pole Sentiments to die cut the snowman and his cute wardrobe as well as the sentiment banners and pole. I love how Spellbinders includes pieces that fit behind the snowman’s eyes, mouth and buttons, filling in those areas quickly! You could make a whole line of festive friends in just minutes 🙂
The snowman comes with two hat options—a beanie (shown) and an adorable cowboy hat. The detailed etchings on the scarf and hat trim highlight the knitted texture beautifully.

I die cut each sentiment banner from colored cardstock and layered it over a solid white banner to make the words really pop! I deliberately placed the banners unevenly on the pole, giving the card a whimsical feel. Having a total of six different sentiment banners works well when incorporated with other die sets in the North Pole Friends Collection.
For instance, the “toy shop” signage goes perfectly with The Clauses & Santa’s Elves sets. Likewise, “let it snow” & “North Pole” sentiments work perfectly with the adorable Polar Bear Pals! This collection is simply wonderful and brings life to the entire theme of festive friends. These sets are flying off the shelf, so order them while you can!
I truly hope that I’ve inspired you today with another quick and easy Christmas idea using these adorable festive friends! By starting early, we’ll have time to enjoy other holiday crafts, like the cute ornaments I shared in this earlier post.
Until next time,
~Krista
