Christmas Gleaming Holly Berries for Color Challenge

Christmas Gleaming for HSSCC321 Color Challenge

The colors which I used on this card were inspired by the HSSCC321 Color Challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Color challenge

Such rich colors to play with and I found myself making several different cards!

I started with a card base of Cherry Cobbler and then a mat of Soft Suede.  The next panel is Pretty Peacock which I ran through the Big Shot with the new Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder which will be available from the 2019 Holiday Catalog beginning September 4.

Next I die cut a vanilla piece with Detailed Bands Die and popped up the sentiment with dimensionals.  The words are from Itty Bitty Christmas and the holly leaves and berries are from Christmas Gleaming.  Both are sets that will be available September 4.

I stamped the holly leaves with VersaMark onto watercolor paper and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder.  They were watercolored by dipping an aqua painter into the lids of Pretty Peacock and Cherry Cobbler ink pads.  To get ink onto the lids of your Stampin’ Up ink pads, squeeze the lid into the base when it’s in the closed position.  You have to squeeze a bit harder with the new style pads than with the old, but it’s still do-able.

After the watercoloring was dry, I cut the leaves out with scissors and popped them up on the card with dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you stamp today!
