Can you believe that Lawn Fawn is celebrating sixteen years of crafting joy? I’m so thankful that I discovered this awesome company several years ago! In honor of this big milestone, I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun for their current Lawnfawnatics Challenge #216 — the Birthday Challenge! If there’s one thing I love creating, it’s birthday cards full of color, whimsy, and, of course, cute critters.
Celebrating Made Easy!
For my project, I turned to one of my all-time favorite Lawn Fawn collections: Simply Celebrate. I used Simply Celebrate More Critters and its Add-On, along with Simply Celebrate Hangouts, to bring my card to life. These sets are perfect for lining up adorable characters and creating cheerful scenes that make you smile the moment you see them. Since no birthday celebration is complete without a little country charm, I went for a farm-themed birthday scene! I brought in the Hay There set, using the barn, pig and sentiment as extra scene builders. I also used the Simple Stitched Tree Border and Simple Stitched Hillside Borders, to create a rolling pasture with blossoming trees.
The star of the card? A lineup of cute barnyard friends ready to party — complete with punny sentiments like “You’re a Pig Deal!” that tie the whole playful theme together. I used Ohuhu alcohol markers to color in the stamped images.
For the backdrop of my card, I used patterned papers from Falling Leaves (for the sky) and Bitsy Blooms (for the pasture and flowering trees).
So, here’s to sixteen years of creativity, community, and crafting happiness — and many more to come! I get so excited with every new release and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this amazing company!
