Butterfly Dance — Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month
Hi Crafty Friends! I’m thrilled to introduce a new stitching die set, Butterfly Dance, which includes everything you need to make a quick and simple card!
If you love adding texture, detail, and a little bit of stitching to your cards, Butterfly Dance is one of those die sets that instantly sparks ideas. As the Spellbinders Stitching Die of the Month, this set is a beautiful mix of elegance and playfulness, featuring a delicate butterfly, a soft cloud border die, and a charming coneflower.

Dreamy Cloud Border
For today’s card, I started with a piece of Lawn Fawn paper called Fairy Godmother from the Rainbow Ever After Collection. I love this paper so much that I went ahead and ordered 24 sheets of it! With two sides featuring beautifully blended color palettes, it’s truly a must-have in my craft room. I cut two A2-sized panels—one from the lightest yellow area and another from the darker peachy colored section. Using the cloud border die, I trimmed the darker panel and then layered it on top of the lighter one.

A Butterfly That Steals the Show
The star of the set is undoubtedly the butterfly, and I decided to use three coordinating blue colors of cardstock: Cascade, Celestial, Cosmic Sky ColorWheel Cardstock. I stitched up the pieces, assembled the butterfly and then jazzed it up with some ombre’ flatback pearls.
Sweet Coneflower Accent
Rounding out the set is the coneflower, a lovely botanical element that pairs perfectly with the butterfly. I cut multiple flowers, leaves and stems out of white cardstock and then shaded them with Distress Oxide Inks in Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold, Crackling Campfire, Vintage Photo, Ground Espresso, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss, Uncharted Mariner. After piecing everything together, I placed them at the bottom of the card base, arranging them until I was pleased. Once they were glued in place, I added the butterfly in the top left corner.
Finishing with a simple “hello”
To finish off the card, I stamped and die cut “hello” using Best Year Sentiments, which is the Stamp & Die set of the month. I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of this awesome set since I first introduced it in this previous post: Sunny Stems in the Winter
Butterfly Dance is one of those Stitching Die of the Month sets that feels both relaxing and inspiring. With so many optional elements that stand beautifully on their own, being creative has never been simpler!
