We’re in that in-between stage where one day feels like the height of summer and the next whispers of fall are everywhere. It’s the perfect time to craft with the Autumn Archives Collection by Kelly Bangs, where Falling Leaves and Changing Trees capture the beauty of the season’s shift.
When I think of fall, I picture chunky knit sweaters in warm, earthy tones and the comforting sight of my mom’s handmade quilts, stitched with beautiful patterns. Those cozy memories became the inspiration behind today’s set of cards.
A Quick & Simple Falling Leaves Card

I kept this card simple by repeating a pattern of Falling Leaves, cut from Lawn Fawn’s gorgeous plaid papers. This reminds me of a quilt that I had as a little girl, which had inlaid birds of different colors and patterns of fabric.
The background is embossed with the Linen 3D folder on Alabaster ColorWheel Cardstock, and then was ink blended around the outer edges with Tea Dye Distress Oxide Ink. It was then completed with a gold-glimmered sentiment from the Birthday Wishes Sentiments BetterPress Plates. I love how the BetterPress plates can also be used with the Glimmer Hot Foil Machine! Quick, easy, and oh-so-pretty!

A Color Block Pattern with Changing Trees
I envisioned this second card with four trees, each framed within its own rectangle. Because the Changing Trees looked crowded on a standard A2 card, I opted for a larger 5” x 7” format instead.

Each rectangle measures 2.25” x 3.25”, leaving a crisp border all around. I pulled out more of the Lawn Fawn paper (fittingly named Falling Leaves) and mixed and matched the trees, finishing each one with a metallic gold trunk for a touch of shine.

Finishing the card, I added a die-cut sentiment “Autumn Greetings” from Autumn Greetings Wreath dies. This was cut from Truffle ColorWheel Cardstock, making it really pop against the backdrop.
These autumn-themed cards come together quickly, but they don’t skimp on charm. With their cozy colors and seasonal details, they’re perfect for brightening someone’s mailbox and spreading a little fall cheer. Whether you send them to friends near or family far away, each card carries a touch of handmade warmth that feels just right for the season.
I hope my cards inspire you to craft today! If you’d like more inspiration for the Autumn Archives Collection, see my previous post “Fall in Love with Autumn Archives”.
Until next time,
~Krista
