Hi Friends! Today I’m sharing a playful St. Patty’s Day card—and what better way to celebrate than with a wheelbarrow full of green bottles of beer? This cheerful handmade card was created using products from Spellbinders. It’s perfect for birthdays, St. Patrick’s Day, Father’s Day, or any occasion that calls for a toast.
Building the Wheelbarrow Scene
The star of this card is the charming wheelbarrow image. After choosing the papers–brushed and shiny gold, I used dies from Spring Haul (currently unavailable) to cut the layers out. The shiny gold paper peeks through the design of the brushed gold layer, adding a small burst of shimmer that’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.

Instead of filling the wheelbarrow with flowers or garden tools, I decided to go in a more festive direction—green bottles of beer! The bottles were cut with dies from March Large Die of the Month, Classic Kicks, and ink blended in varying shades of green to create depth and interest. Adding a touch of glossy gold detail to the bottles gives them that classic glass-bottle shine. I had to improvise for the shamrocks, since I didn’t have any in my collection, but a flower from Classic Kicks worked. Finally, I added some Clear Drops to the bottles, making them look chilled and inviting.
A Soft Color Palette
To keep the focus on the wheelbarrow and its happy cargo, I kept the background light and simple. To create the background, I die cut a piece of Lawn Fawn’s Rainbow Ever After 12×12 paper using Spellbinders Perfect Touch Arches and Tag Dies.
I slipped in a few yellow flowers that were cut with dies from Spring Haul and then added a simple sentiment from my stamp stash.

Once the card front was finished, I adhered it to a folded card base that was cut with Essential Arches Dies. By folding the base and laying that fold within the edge of the die, it cuts the shape while leaving the fold intact! These Essential Arches work beautifully with the Perfect Touch Arches and Tag dies, offering loads of layering options!
Final Thoughts
I love to make cheerful cards and this wheelbarrow of green bottles definitely brings a smile. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, Father’s Day, or just sending a card to say “cheers,” this design is a fun reminder that sometimes the best deliveries come in a wheelbarrow full of good times.
Another great way to say “cheers!” is with my post, New Year, New Card.
Happy crafting and St. Patty’s Day cheer!
