Sometimes the best way to say thank you is with music—and today’s card does just that! I pulled out the Musical Notes Collection from Spellbinders and created a cheerful design with a sweet sentiment: “A little happy note to say thank you”.
The star of the card is a die-cut Mini Guitar, which I paired with Musical Notes & Stave to set the tone. I tucked in a few delicate flowers for a soft, playful touch, balancing the boldness of the instrument with a bit of charm and color. Together, these elements create a melody on paper that feels joyful and uplifting.
Making “A Little Happy Note” card:
1. Background
I started with a white cardstock panel for the background, giving it some subtle texture with Musical Notes 3D embossing folder.
2. Guitar & Stave
Next, I die-cut the Mini Guitar from some shimmery ombré paper, adding some gold glimmer and black to make it really pop. The flowing stave was die cut from yellow cardstock and is embellished with black musical notes. I love how the stave instantly adds movement, like the music is dancing across the card. Adhering it at a slight angle gives it a playful, energetic feel.

3. Sentiment: “A Little Happy Note”
For the sentiment, I used “A little happy note to say thank you”, which is from the coordinating stamp set, Family Musical Mix Greetings. I placed it below the guitar so it feels like the music is carrying the message. You can stamp or heat emboss this—either way, it ties the whole theme together beautifully.
4. Flowers for the Finish
To soften the look, I added clusters of flowers, from the Mini Guitar die set, around the guitar and stave. A mix of small blossoms in pink and purple colors really makes the card sweet and joyful.

I was instantly drawn to this Musical Notes Collection because there are several in my family with musical talent. Even without that talent, I think everyone enjoys music in some way, shape or form, making this collection a great addition to every craft room! Just imagine your next masterpiece! 🙂
I first shared these products in my previous post: “Compose Your Next Masterpiece” which also includes a quick video showcasing the Stave Pop Up die in action.
I hope you have music in your heart!
Until next time,
~Krista
