Happy Thanksgiving! Today is a time for slowing down, sharing a meal with loved ones, and reflecting on the abundance in our lives. It’s also a beautiful opportunity to share something handmade from the heart. Today, I’m excited to highlight a Thanksgiving card that captures the richness of the season using the Spellbinders Autumn Greeting Wreath Dies—a project filled with warm color, texture, and a whole lot of gratitude.
A Wreath in Harvest Hues
Nothing says Thanksgiving like earthy, cozy colors, so I built this wreath around a palette of plum, turquoise, orange, burgundy, and mustard. These tones feel like a perfect blend of dusky evenings, changing leaves, and the warmth of a holiday table.

The center of the wreath has a lattice pattern that was made with Spellbinders Stitched Edge Circle Backgrounds and gives it a straight-from-the-garden feel.
Each piece of the wreath was shaded with Distress Oxide Inks, giving every leaf and gourd soft shadowy transitions. I LOVE that Ranger is now offering these inks in a mini size! To add a hint of rustic charm, I splattered the inked pieces with black and metallic gold watercolors. The flecks of gold, especially, make the whole wreath glow—just like candlelight on a Thanksgiving table. The paints that I splatter with can be found here and here.
A Golden Sentiment for Thanksgiving Day
At the heart of the card is a simple but meaningful message: “gather & give thanks”, which is from Autumn Sentiments BetterPress Plate.
I used my Glimmer Machine to hot-foil the sentiment in beautiful gold foil, which not only coordinates with the gold splatter but adds an elegant, festive shine perfect for Thanksgiving Day. The metallic warmth pulls the whole card together and highlights the theme of gratitude.

Finishing with a Festive Bow
To complete the design, I added a bow made with The Greetery’s Fit to Be Tied Die. The shape and dimension of this bow make it a standout embellishment without overshadowing the wreath. Cut from gold foil paper, this bow truly ties this card together!
Thanksgiving Reflections
Creating this card reminded me of the beauty of slowing down and savoring the season. Handmade projects have a way of connecting us—to our creativity, to our traditions, and to the people we share them with. If you’d like more wreath inspiration, see Create with Autumn Greetings Wreath.
Whether you’re spending Thanksgiving around a full table or enjoying a quiet, peaceful day, I hope it’s filled with warmth, gratitude, and moments worth remembering.
Wishing you a wonderful, heartfelt Thanksgiving Day—and happy crafting!
~Until next time,
Krista
