Rise & Shine with So Very Vellum

Rise & Shine Stamp Set with So Very Vellum Specialty Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

New Sale-a-Bration items are coming March 3,2020!

I had so much fun creating this card with a sketch from Paper Craft Crew as my starting point.  (PCC372)  The colors I chose to work with were all determined by the colors in the little strip of Best Dressed DSP; Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaron and Purple Posy.  Aren’t they a pretty combination?

Garden in Bloom for #GDP055 and PCC212

#GDP055, PCC212, Garden in Bloom by Krista Thomas, www.regalstamping.com

Garden in Bloom is a set that offers a great variety of 2 & 3 step stamping options.  If you’re not familiar with 2 or 3 step stamping, it just means that you layer stamps on top of each other.  For instance, on the large orange flowers I started with the outline stamp in 1st generation ink (full strength) in Tangerine Tango.  Then I stamped the petals with 2nd generation ink (stamping on a place mat before stamping onto the card), which results in a lighter shade of the same color.  The centers were stamped in Crushed Curry.  The small blue flowers and all of the leaves were stamped in the same fashion, using 1st and 2nd generations of ink.

The colors in this card are Night of Navy, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango and Emerald Envy, which qualifies it for Paper Craft Crew’s Challenge #212.

After completing my card, I realized that in the small print of the challenge box below, it says to use 3 of the 4 colors and I used all four.  So maybe I need to have my eyes checked!  Oh well, I still like how my card turned out and hopefully the Paper Craft Crew will accept my submission in spite of my oops!

*Update- I got sidetracked when my grandkids stopped by and I missed the submission time for PCC212.  I guess it wasn’t meant to be…

It also qualifies for the Global Design Project Challenge #055. That challenge is all about Random Acts of Kindness which are unexpected kindnesses to a friend or a stranger.

I was the recipient of a RAK during a trip through McDonald’s drive through window where the man ahead of me paid my bill. I paid it forward and picked up the tab for the person behind me. Our world can be a better place when strangers and friends alike take a moment to care for each other.

Clean & Simple Ahoy There, PCC206

Seaside Shore for PCCC206 by Krista Thomas, www.regalstamping.com

One of my favorite places to be is on the beach and I am fortunate to live within an hour or so from the Pacific Ocean.  When we go camping, it is usually in that direction, and I can’t get enough of it.   I love the sound of the waves crashing, the smell of the salt air and the feel of the sand between my toes.  Being there just does something to my very soul.  It is a feeling that I cannot explain.  It restores, refreshes and revives my energy and creativity in a way that nothing else can!  Here is the view we had from our campsite…and I am longing to go back.

And now for the details

I created this card for my August “Clean & Simple” card classes as well as the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #206 which only required the use of patterned paper.  This card fits the bill with 3 strips of designer paper from “By the Shore”, a beautiful Stampin’ Up! product.  Each strip measures 1.25″ x 5.25″ and is spaced evenly across a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card made from Dapper Denim card stock.  I used 3 different sizes of circle punches (shown below) embossed with Seaside Textured Embossing Folder.  The 2 fish, seashell, banner and seaweed are all cut by hand with scissors.  I used the Confetti Heart Punch and some Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the fish bubbles.

I think all of the ladies in class liked it and I hope you do to!  Thanks for visiting!
