One Wild Ride, Z Fold Technique

Instructions for Z Fold Technique by Krista Thomas, One Wild Ride, www.regalstamping.com

What a fun time I’ve had with this technique and it’s so easy!  We made this card in my technique classes this week and many of the participants asked if we could do it again with a Christmas theme when I hold my annual Christmas Stamp Camp.  I think it’s a great idea!

Simple instructions for the Z Fold Card

Cut black card stock (card base) 4.25″ x 11″.
Cut 2 gray mats: 4″ x 5 .25″ and 4″ x 2.5″  (I embossed with the Brick Wall Embossing Folder)
Cut orange strip: 1.25″ x 11″

Score black card base at: 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″

Score orange strip at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″

Fold on all scored lines creating a “Z” with each panel. See the picture for more clarification, but basically the black Z and the orange Z are backwards from each other.   Don’t forget to glue your gray panels down before securing the orange Z.

Stamping details…

Notice the texture that we stamped on the gray panels.  That was done after we embossed the panels with the Brick Wall Texture Embossing Folder, and using a stamp from Timeless Textures with Basic Gray ink.  I love how it looks and it adds just the right touch of grunge.

The rest of the stamping was done with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  When the card is closed, the sentiments on the inside are hidden.  Here’s what it looks like…
