Birthday Blooms Easel Technique

Easel Technique with Birthday Blooms, by Krista Thomas, www.regalstamping.com, Check out this quick tutorial on how to make your own easel card!

Here is a fun and simple folding technique which allows you to display your card perfectly. It’s the Easel Technique!

Everything I used on this card is current in the Stampin’ Up! catalog with the exception of the Designer Series Paper.  I wish I knew the name of it, as it is one of my all time favorites, but alas, I cannot.  If anyone knows and can share the name, please do and I’ll update this post!

I used my Prisma Colored Pencils to color the flowers.

Cut a piece of card stock 4 1/4″ x 11″. Score at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ on the 11″ side. Fold as shown.

Cut another piece of card stock 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and glue the bottom half to the scored panel, as shown in this picture.

On the inside of the card, glue a 4″ x 5 1/4″ panel and add a raised element ( a label, border or decoration of some sort) approx. 1 1/2″ to 2″ from the bottom of the card. This raised element will give the front of the card a “stopping” point and allow the card to stand up.
