Bendi Card Technique using Foxy Friends by Stampin’ Up!

Foxy Friends Bendi Card by Krista Thomas, www.regalstamping.com

Welcoming Owen…

This card is for our newest grandson, Owen Michael, born August 23, six weeks early and creating quite a stir as he entered the world!  Mommy developed Hellp Syndrome and was transported by ambulance to a bigger hospital than our little town offers and Owen came via C-Section a few hours later.  He weighed in at 5 lb. 6 oz. and is doing very well in NICU.  We are very proud grandparents!

Bendi cards are the newest rage and are fairly quick to make with some simple cutting.  You can find directions for the them here.  I modified the directions because I wanted to have an inside for writing a sentiment, so I used a 4.25″ x 11″ piece of card stock folded in half at 5.5″.  This card was originally designed for the SplitCoastStampers Creative Crew Design Team as a July submission.

The new Foxy Friends set from Stampin’ Up! is a versatile group of stamps that you can use to create many different animals, including a skunk, deer, kitty, fox and raccoon.  The tree stamps coordinate with the Perfect Pines framelits, making for a quick cut.  I used the Weather Together Bundle to stamp and cut out the clouds.

As we wait for Owen’s arrival home, I will be starting his first scrapbook and dreaming of lots of cuddle time!

At the end of this post are the products that were used for this card and they can be ordered by clicking on the picture which will take you to my store.  If you have any questions, just give me a holler.  I hope you stamp today!

Best Fishes, Jar of Love

I created this card for a workshop where participants got to make five pieces of “card candy” which is simply a creative element that can be put onto a card or scrapbook layout.  During the workshop, one of our projects was this  fish in a jar which was then layered on top of the squares.  Then I showed how it could easily be added to a card.  The ladies who attended the workshop loved the card candy idea because they got to play with lots of different stamps and accessories from the new annual catalog and they went home with ideas to finish their projects.

Now for some fun trivia regarding goldfish…

I was visiting my sister who lives on a cattle ranch and she told me that they put goldfish in the watering troughs to eat the mosquito larva.  Who knew?!

What would you put into your jar of love?

This stamp set includes several things that can be put inside the jar: flowers, fire flies, fish or gum balls.  Use a little imagination and you can come up with all kinds of things.  You could even leave the jar empty and use the sentiment “Life feels empty without you”.  How about making a shaker card, then filling the jar with heart confetti and including the sentiment “Bless your heart”.  The possibilities are endless!
