Just Chicken In, a Hey Chick card with custom sentiments to fit Messages Die

Just Chicken In with my Peeps!

Hey Chick, just chicken in on you and hoping the springtime weather has you smiling and digging in the dirt! It’s one of my favorite things to do when the weather warms up and the plants go on sale. If only the weeds would pick themselves! LOL!

I’ve been cleaning out the flower beds so that my grandkids can help me plant.  Since the kiddos are still living with us while their new home is being built (everything takes longer during COVID-19), I figured it’ll be great to introduce some gardening to the little ones!  They’ll peek through the front window every day to see how their flowers are growing, which made me think of Stampin’ Up’s Welcoming Window Bundle.

Welcoming Window Bundle by Stampin' Up!

This bundle of products is perfect for adding flower baskets, scenes, and peek-a-boo characters such as this fun chicken from Hey Chick. This set now has coordinating Chick Dies, but they’re only available until May 3, 2021. If you haven’t gotten them yet, don’t wait!

If you’ve already got the stamp set (it was a freebie during Sale-a-Bration a few years back), just get the dies (#158199).

Hey Chick Bundle, by Stampin' Up!

You’re also going to want the Chicken Sentiments that I made to fit the Messages Die!  They’re FREE as a download and you can print them out onto any color of card stock!  You’ll find them in this previous post or on my Free Sentiments page.

Hey Chick with Welcoming Window, Just Chicken In

I stamped the bricks from Welcoming Window stamp set using Basic Gray ink on a Smoky Slate panel.  The shutters and shelf were cut from black card stock with the Window Flower Box Dies.

The window was stamped on white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then I place a Post-It note at the bottom edge of the frame.  This masking allowed me to stamp the chicken at the bottom without getting ink below the window frame.

I colored the chicken with Stampin’ Blend Markers in Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red.

The custom sentiment was printed from my FREE Chicken Sentiments PDF onto Bumble Bee card stock and was then cut out with the Messages Die.

I used a Stitched with Whimsy Die to frame the inside panel, adding another custom sentiment, some stamped flowers from Welcoming Window and a die cut chick from Birthday Chick Dies.

Just Chicken In

We are on the countdown towards Stampin’ Up’s new 2021-22 Annual Catalog, which begins on May 4, and while the Hey Chick products will not carry-over, Hey Birthday Chick stamp set and Birthday Chick Dies will!  Yay for chicken lovers every where!!!

I’m so happy that you stopped by today and I hope you’ll come back soon!

Until next time,

~Krista

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

I recently began making custom sentiments to fit Stampin’ Up’s Messages Die, and I’m sharing them with you as FREE PDF’s after receiving permission from Stampin’ Up!

Today’s cards all feature these custom Flower Garden sentiments plus the Pretty Perennials Bundle which was inspired by Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, Dena Rekow, when she reached 1 Million in sales.  Way to go, Dena!!

Feel free to download my custom sentiments PDF, below.  Just click on “View in Full Screen” and then the “up” arrow towards the bottom center.  Once you’ve downloaded, just print as usual but make sure your computer doesn’t resize it to anything other than 100%.  This will ensure that the Messages Die will fit it perfectly!

My previously shared sentiment PDF’s can be found in the following posts:

Chicken Messages

Dog & Cat Messages

You can also click on the “Free Sentiments” tab at the top of my blog for instant access to the PDF’s.

Let’s take a look at each of my cards, all of which follow the same color scheme of Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Soft Sea Foam, Petal Pink, Calypso Coral and So Saffron.

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

This simple card is pretty straight-forward.  After stamping some Soft Sea Foam flowers and sponging over the center area a bit, I added the flower and leaves.  I ran the die cut leaves through my Subtle 3D Embossing Folder, giving them a bit of texture. Sadly, this embossing folder is on the retiring list and is only available while supplies last.

The sentiment was cut with the Messages Die and is part of my custom Flower Garden PDF, shared above.

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

This next card is more detailed with lots of flowers and leaves.  I used the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder on the Crumb Cake panel, adding a Gold Hoop Embellishment behind the flowers.

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

I added some Poppy Parade accents to the flowers, along with some gold colored Gilded Gems.

The sentiment is from my FREE custom Flower Garden PDF, shared above.

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

Using the same color combination, I stamped a background for my third card, adding some Soft Suede to a few of the flower centers.

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

The custom Messages Die sentiment fit perfectly on a label from Stitched So Sweetly Dies.

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

The die cut flower on the top corner of the sentiment is accented with an Artistry Blooms Sequin in Calypso Coral.  These sequins are currently one of my favorite products and I’m so happy that they’re carrying over into the 2021-22 Annual Catalog!

Inside this card is a stamped sentiment from the Pretty Perennials Bundle. Get this bundle while you can, as it is retiring soon!

Pretty Perennials with Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

This fourth card is simple to make, with So Saffron flowers stamped onto a Very Vanilla panel and accented with a raised die cut flower at the bottom.

The custom Flower Garden sentiment is from my FREE PDF, shared at the beginning of this post.

Finally for my fifth card of today, I stamped Crumb Cake flowers across a panel of the same color.  The Soft Sea Foam banner was punched with Triple Banner Punch (retiring soon!) and embossed with one of the Greenery embossing folders.

The flower was stamped with Crumb Cake and accented with a Soft Suede die cut flower.

Gold twine was used as an accent below the custom Flower Garden sentiment.

Collage of Oh Snap, a crocodile stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Jungle Wishes and Crocodile Kisses…Oh Snap!

When you have a big extended family with lots of kids in it, you’re likely going to need lots of children’s birthday cards throughout the year.

Fortunately for card makers, there are a good number of juvenile themed products in Stampin’ Up’s current mini catalog, including this toothy crocodile!   With a couple of cute accomplices and a selection of accent stamps, this croc will surely bring smiles to any birthday party.

Jungle wishes and crocodile kisses...Oh Snap!

I wanted to create three differently colored crocs for my assembly of cards, but I wanted them to be patterned.  After a few attempts at stamping onto various designer papers, I had an “ah-ha” moment. (I just love it when that happens!!) 🙂

I pulled out my Brusho Watercolor Crystals and started playing. First I sprinkled some of the colored powders onto a panel of watercolor paper.  I spritzed the paper with water and allowed the crystals to do their thing.  After doing three different panels in different color combinations, I used my heat tool to speed up the drying time. I then proceeded to stamp the crocodile and bird images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

With a little bit of fussy cutting (using scissors), my pieces were ready to assemble onto three different cards, shown below.

Card stock colors for this first card are Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce.  I stamped the large lotus flower all the way around the Shaded Spruce panel using the same color ink.  By stamping the four corners first and then filling in between, the spacing was easy enough to accomplish.

The green and yellow tints of watercoloring created an interesting pattern for the crocodile, don’t you think?

Jungle Wishes and Crocodile Kisses...Oh Snap!

For the next version, I began with a Calypso Coral card base and a Poppy Parade panel framed again with the lotus flower stamped with Poppy Parade ink.

The red and yellow watercoloring resulted in a speckled effect on this croc.  Cool, huh?

Jungle Wishes and Crocodile Kisses...Oh Snap!

Finally for this third card I used a Coastal Cabana card base and a Pacific Point mat. The lotus flowers were stamped with Pacific Point ink.

I used green and blue watercolor crystals for this aquatic colored crocodile.  He’s kind of dreamy, isn’t he?

Jungle Wishes and Crocodile Kisses...Oh Snap!

No matter how many times I play with my Brusho Watercolor Crystals, I am amazed by the results!  So many possibilities are contained within each tub of crystals and I am left to wonder why I don’t use them more often!!  Can you relate?

Now that I’m stocked up for the next few birthdays, I can hardly wait for the next party!

Until next time, I hope you stamp today!

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

Happy weekend and hello!!  It’s Spring Break for many of us and with that comes road trips, vacations, or perhaps because of COVID-19, stay-cations.  Whatever your plans are for the next week, I hope you’re healthy, happy and enjoying some well deserved time off.

I am sharing some cards today that feature my custom dog and cat sentiments.  These were designed to be cut out with the Messages Die, from the Jan-Jun 2021 Spring Mini Catalog.

Stampin’ Up has graciously given me permission to share them with you as long as they’re FREE.  All you have to do is download the free PDF and then print them out on your own card stock. If you do not already own the Messages Die, you can order one from my online store or from your own Stampin’ Up demonstrator, if you have one.  If not, I’d love to have the privilege of being yours!

Before I share the PDF, let me show you four adorable dog and cat cards that feature these sentiments and the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper.  All of the pets were fussy cut (with scissors), something that I find very relaxing.  Give me some scissors, designer paper and a television show and I can cut for hours. 🙂  I know that not everyone finds pleasure in fussy cutting and for those people, I would suggest the Pampered Pets Bundle.

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

I used Layering Circles Dies for the black and white circles.  The dog and cat sentiments were printed from my PDF onto Real Red card stock and were then cut out with the Messages Die.

Playful Pets dog and cat custom sentiments for the Messages Die

For the inside of the card I cut another sentiment down to fit better and added a Stitched with Whimsy border.  I added another dog from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper along with a few Resin Hearts.

Inside of dog card for Playful Pets

Through the years, Stampin’ Up has offered a large variety of pet stamp sets and my custom sentiments will work beautifully with any of them.  Besides the current Pampered Pets Bundle, there is also Hot Dog stamp set in the Spring Mini Catalog.

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

The cats from the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper are seriously adorable, with this grumpy cat being one of my favorites!  Again, I used the Layering Circles Dies, as well as Stitched Rectangles Dies.  The Flirty Flamingo mat was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  Resin Hearts and a custom sentiment finish off the card.  (Don’t forget, the FREE custom sentiments are shared with you later in this post!)

Playful Pets dog and cat custom sentiments for the Messages Die

On the inside panel, I stamped a sentiment from Forever Fern stamp set with Real Red ink.  I added the black cat and mouse toy at the bottom.

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

This next card uses a Cinnamon Cider card base with a Sahara Sand mat.  I used a die from Stitched Triangles to cut borders from the top and bottom of the Sahara Sand panel.  I then placed some strips of Real Red card stock behind the cut outs.

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

The sentiment is from my free PDF which I’m sharing with you today, at the end of this post!

Custom dog and cat sentiments for the Messages Die

On the inside of this card, I stamped the Many Messages stamp onto Real Red card stock and cut it out with the Messages Die.  The adorable dog is placed so that his paw is at the top, or holding onto, the scalloped circle.

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

Finally we come to the last card that I’m sharing today, and it’s one that I messed up on.  Well, sort of.  But in my defense, I think it all worked out okay.  I always say that mistakes are just creative opportunities!

So, can you figure out my mistake?

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

If you noticed that I used a dog, and a dog sentiment with the cat designer paper, then you’re right!  Not the worst mistake ever, but when I realized it, I said to myself “Are you kidding me?!?”.

Custom dog and cat sentiments for the Messages Die

So then I added another custom sentiment, and a cat, to the inside of the card.

Playful Pets Custom Sentiments for your Messages Die

All in all, I think it turned out pretty good and hopefully someone will get a chuckle out of it!

After sharing these four cards, I hope that you’ll also want to use my custom sentiments.  If you already have the Messages Die then you’re all set.  Just download my free PDF and print the sentiments onto what ever color card stock you want.

If you don’t already have the Messages Die, you can order it here (or from your own demonstrator, if you already have one).  Check out the Many Messages Bundle for a complete deal!

There were a few people who had issues with the previously shared sentiments not printing out correctly.  We figured out that their computers were inadvertently resizing the PDF to a larger size.  If you have a sizing issue, check to make sure it’s printing at 100%, NOT larger.

I hope you find lots of time to be creative during Spring Break, especially if you’re having a stay-cation!  Have fun and stay safe, healthy and happy!

Until next time,

~Krista

How to Frame Your Cards with Stitched with Whimsy Dies

How to Frame Your Cards using Stitched with Whimsy Dies

Do you believe in love at first sight?

I do, because that’s exactly what happened to me when I first laid eyes on these awesome dies called Stitched with Whimsy.

While these dies don’t actually cut anything out, they do leave stitching lines on your card stock which creates a lovely frame.  Simply cut a panel to the size you want and then lay the die onto it and run it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.  You can see the stitching on my Pretty Peacock panel in the photo below:

How to frame your cards using Stitched with Whimsy Dies

Notice the gentle, whimsical curves that frame the Pretty Peacock panel and how they create a subtle border to an otherwise very plain background.  This set of Stitched with Whimsy Dies includes rectangles and squares (3 of each in graduating sizes) and is available through the Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog, page 72.

Stitched with Whimsy Dies by Stampin' Up!

The chickens are from Hey Birthday Chick, a new set that coordinates with Hey Chick from several years ago (and it’s BACK too!). For a limited time, both of these sets are available with dies as well, shown below:

Hey Birthday Chick bundle, Stampin' Up!

Hey Chick Bundle, by Stampin' Up!

Here’s another card that I made with the chickens and the whimsy dies.  The card stock colors are Poppy Parade, Cinnamon Cider, White and So Saffron.

The sentiment, “Don’t grow up, it’s a TRAP!” is from my custom sentiment PDF which is available to you for FREE! You can download it below 🙂

Stitched with Whimsy Dies with Hey Birthday Chick bundle by Stampin' Up!

Download my FREE sentiments!

I’ve created some fun silly puns and sentiments that can be cut out with the Messages Die.  These sentiments will give you more ways to say what you want to say and they’re FREE to you!  There are two different sets and all you need to do is download my PDF’s and then print them onto any color of card stock.  Lay your Messages Die over them and run through your die cutting machine.  You’ll have loads of sentiments to pick from, to use or save for later.  Just download the PDF, save it to your files and then print as needed!

Don’t have the Messages Die???  Oh dear…you’re missing out!  This one big die cuts out 19 sentiments with only one pass through your die cutting machine!  It coordinates with Many Messages stamp (one big stamp) and is easiest to use with the Stamparatus.

Over the new few months, I’ll be releasing a number of sentiment PDF’s that fit this die and they’ll all be FREE to you, as a thank you for following my blog and allowing me to share Stampin’ Up with you!!

* (I have permission from Stampin’ Up! to share these with you as long as they’re FREE!)

Don’t hesitate on getting the die that you’ll need to cut them all out with!  It’s in the Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog, page 35, which only runs through June 30, 2021.  Will it return in the next annual catalog?  Nobody knows, so don’t take a chance…get it ASAP!

Let’s take a peek at a couple more cards using the Stitched with Whimsy Dies and my fun sentiments.

How to Frame Your Card with Stiched with Whimsy Dies

I framed the Very Vanilla panel (5″ x 3 3/4″) with the 2nd largest rectangle from Stitched with Whimsy Dies.

Along with Hey Birthday Chick, I used Nothing’s Better Than for the cocktail and added one of my custom sentiments from the free PDF.

Card stock colors are Flirty Flamingo, Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Poppy Parade, and Bumblebee.

The cocktail from Nothing’s Better Than stamp set was stamped with Early Espresso and the fill color is 2nd generation Pear Pizzazz.  The lime is also Pear Pizzazz without stamping off first.  The umbrella is Flirty Flamingo.  I used Love You More Than Dies to cut the cocktail out.

The chicken was stamped with Early Espresso ink and colored in with Stampin’ Blend Markers in Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze.  It was cut out with the Birthday Chick Dies.

I printed my custom sentiments onto Bumblebee card stock and then cut all of them out with the Messages Die.

And on the inside I stamped words from Nothing’s Better Than and Hey Birthday Chick using Mango Melody and Poppy Parade inks.  The cocktail was stamped the same as for the front but this time the umbrella is Mango Melody.

And today’s final example uses Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, White and Brass Foil.

I used Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder on the Highland Heather panel. The horizontal Bermuda Bay banner is 2″ wide and was notched with the Triple Banner Punch.

The Coastal Cabana 2 3/4″ square was framed with the largest square from Stitched with Whimsy Dies and then I used a corner rounder punch on the corners.

I colored the stamped images with Stampin’ Blend Markers in Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Cinnamon Cider.

And on the inside…

“Happy Birthday” die is from Birthday Chick Dies and was cut from two colors, Flirty Flamingo and Highland Heather.  I placed the pink behind the purple with a slight off-set.

As you can see, I’ve been having some craft room fun using these chickens and my original sentiments!  I hope you’ll enjoy using them too. Be sure and click the PDF so that you can download and print them out.

I shared the PDF above, but here it is again:

Hey Chick, Smile!

Hey Chick, Smile!

February is almost over and that means that Sale-a-Bration will be ending in just a few short days!  If you still want access to some FREE products, get your order in before the end of February 28, 2021.  With each $50 order, you get to choose a freebie from the Sale-a-Bration catalog!

Time flies when you’re having fun and this year is already speeding by!  If that’s what it takes to get in front of COVID-19 so that we can get back to normal, then let’s have a ball, paint the town red and keep this year rolling!

Most of my days begin in the craft room where I enjoy a few hours of solitude…my happy time!  *Sigh*  🙂

While looking for a challenge as I drank my morning coffee, I stumbled onto four and combined them into one card!

Here are the challenges where I found my inspiration for the day:

Watercooler Wednesday

Watercooler Wednesday Card Challenge

Next was a challenge from ModSquad to add some architecture such as a castle, house, etc., and I chose to use a chicken coop!  I’m sure the chickens think it’s just grand!

Third was Global Design Projects challenge to CASE the Designer, as shown here:

Global Design Project Challenge

And finally a color challenge from Color Throwdown.

Color Throwdown Card Challenge

I chose a card base of Terra Cotta Tile with a white mat on top.

Hey Chick, Smile!

I stamped the chicken with Early Espresso ink onto white card stock and colored her in with Stampin’ Blend Markers in Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick.  The chicken coop was cut from Pretty Peacock card stock after sponging the same color ink onto the die.  This gets the color down into the grooves and adds some definition.

The sentiment is from my own stash that I made to fit the Messages Die.  I’ll be sharing the FREE sentiment PDF in the very near future, so please stay tuned.  If you don’t want to miss it, please consider subscribing to my blog so that you won’t miss any posts.

I hope you find some stamping time today and will join me again soon!

Until then,

~Krista

Happy Mail with Snailed It Bundle

Sending Happy Mail with Snailed It Bundle

When I’m in card making mode, I often look for a challenge to give me inspiration.  There are lots of “card challenge blogs” online, such as Color Throwdown which is where my inspiration came from for today’s card.

The prescribed colors (pink, green & gold) were not something that I would have picked otherwise, hence, a good challenge for me!

Sending happy mail…

The new Snailed It Bundle was sitting on my table just waiting for some love, so I gave it a go and had fun in the designing process.

I used Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam, Gold Gilded Leafing Embellishment, as well as Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla for my neutrals.

I used an Early Espresso ink pad for all of the stamping and colored the images using my alcohol-based Stampin’ Blend Markers. (Petal Pink, Soft Sea Foam & Ivory)

Along the edge of a Crumb Cake panel (5″ x 3 3/4″), I placed a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive which is super sticky and then I covered the tape with Gilded Leafing Embellishment, using tweezers to lay the leafing pieces over the tape, pushing it onto the tape with my fingers and then rubbing off the excess with a sponge.

The Gilded Leafing is quite messy to work with but the end result is well worth the effort!

Once the gold leafing was applied, I placed the Crumb Cake panel in the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

I used Snail Dies to cut out the stamped images and the stitched square. The images were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added a “trail” behind the snail with some glitter glue.

I decorated the inside panel of my card as shown below, using a sentiment from Sweet Strawberry stamp set.  The mushrooms are part of the Snailed It bundle.

Snail mail can make a person’s day brighter during these long winter days.  Let’s all strive to actually mail the cards we make, knowing that it will bring a smile to someone’s face!

Until next time,

I hope you stamp and mail a card!!

Hey Birthday Chick, Let's Celebrate You! Stampin' Up chickens

Hey Birthday Chick, Let’s Celebrate You!

Hey stampers, do you have any friends that are still spring chickens (or pretend to be)??? If you know any spring chick wannabe’s then the “Hey Chick” and “Hey Birthday Chick” bundles are perfect for celebrating them!

Today’s card was inspired by two different card challenges, the first from Global Design Project.

Global Design Project Challenge

The second challenge inspiration comes from Stella Says Sketch

sketch challenge

With a theme and a sketch to inspire me, making today’s card was fun and relaxing!

Hey Birthday Chick, Let's Celebrate You!

You may already have the Hey Chick stamp set, a former Sale-a-Bration freebie from several years ago.  But did you know that there are now coordinating dies (#158199) for it?  Yes!!  They’re available separately or as a bundle with the stamp set (in case you missed it the first time around!).  With many “extras” like a hen house, corn stalk, eggs, chicken wire and more, you’ll love having these dies!

Hey Chick Bundle

Chick Dies

Hey Birthday Chick, Let's Celebrate You!

Released in the current Jan-Jun 2021 Mini Catalog is the brand new Hey Birthday Chick stamp set which has matching dies for it as well! These dies (#158200) are not shown in the catalog but include a feed bag, streamer, fence and more, in addition to the chicken dies.

Hey Birthday Chick Bundle

Birthday Chick Dies, Stampin' Up!

For today’s card, I began with an Early Espresso card base, followed by a Poppy Parade panel.  A smaller Flirty Flamingo panel is framed with the use of Stitched With Whimsey Dies (#155314).

Stitched with Whimsey Dies, Stampin' Up!

I stamped the chicken with Early Espresso ink and colored her with Stampin’ Blend Markers which are AMAZING to color with.  These alcohol based markers blend beautifully and are easily my favorite coloring medium these days!  The fence was cut from Soft Suede card stock and then a few red Resin Hearts were placed around as accents.

Hey Birthday Chick, Let's Celebrate You!

I decorated the Very Vanilla inside panel with a torn strip of Soft Suede card stock at the bottom, with a corn stalk coming up from it. The cute spring chicken was colored, die cut and popped up with dimensionals.  The sentiments were stamped with Early Espresso ink.

Get these adorable chickens while they’re available (until June 2021) by shopping at my online store.  Please use my current host code unless your total is $150 or more.  When you shop with me during February AND use my host code, I’ll be sending you a surprise via USPS! Hey Chick, we're BACK and better than ever!

When I received my Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick bundles, I immediately stamped a variety of images onto Basic White and Very Vanilla card stock and then began coloring the images with my Stampin’ Blend Markers.

After coloring, I used the coordinating dies to cut everything out and then began making my card.  With so many fun chicken images to pick from, it took some playing but my card finally came together!

I used images and dies from both bundles, giving me many different options.

I even added some elements to the inside of my card, as shown below.

Hey Chick, we're BACK and better than ever!!

I sponged some Soft Suede ink onto the hen house die and then cut it from Crumb Cake card stock.  This allowed the details of the die to show up better.  When you try this, be sure and wipe the die off after using it!

Flowering Cactus in Layers

Mistakes are Proof that I’m Only Human!

I had a moment of dread when I woke up yesterday, January 31, and realized that the online class I had posted was not working correctly. I had a multitude of messages awaiting me and asking how they could purchase my class.  What?!?  My chest filled with that awful feeling of dread.  What was going on?

It all boiled down to human error.  Yep!  I’ll admit that I made a mistake.  While I published the post, I failed to activate the PDF, which meant that nobody was able to purchase the class.  I hate making mistakes and while I not a perfectionist, I strive to be close! 🙂

I did fix the problem quickly, but I’m guessing many readers left before that happened.

I’m saying all of this because I’d like another chance to share my class with you AND I’m going to show you another fun card which uses the same products.

Let’s start with a quick recap of yesterday’s post!  This newest online class includes 6 cards designed for the avid (advanced) stamper, using the Flowering Cactus Product Medley and it includes a bonus sheet of cactus & succulent puns that can be cut out with the Messages Die.  When you purchase my class, you’ll receive a 40 page PDF complete with cutting measurements and step by step pictures and instructions for each card and the bonus sentiments, all for only $15.

See all of the details here.

Flowering Cactus, An Online Class

After purchasing the class, you’ll immediately receive an email with the PDF which you’ll want to download.  Save it so that you’ll be able to find it when you’re ready to craft or print it out.

Also included…

I’ve scheduled a ZOOM class for Saturday, February 13, 2021, from 9 a.m. to noon (Pacific Time) so that we can visit, laugh and craft for a few hours together.  I will not be giving formal instruction as the PDF is meant for that purpose but I will answer questions and help if needed.

Now I’d like to share another card with you which I made using the same products that are featured in the online class.  While this card is not part of the online class, it will give you another idea for the products.

Flowering Cactus in Layers and why Mistakes are Proof that I'm Human!

The layout and design of this card were originally from a Christmas card that I made a few months ago, shown below, and it’s been one of the most visited pages on my blog.  I figured it’d be a good thing to replicate with a different theme.  If you want more information, you can see it in this blog post.

I love going through my previously made stash of cards and remaking a favorite with different products!

Here’s a peek at the inside of the cactus card:

Besides using products from the Flowering Cactus Product Medley, I also used Soft Sea Foam and Basic White card stock, along with Stitched So Sweetly Dies and a Mossy Meadow ink pad.

A time saving tip for you…

One thing I’ve found that saves time with the cactus products, is to die cut several of the designer paper sheets that contain “cuttable” cacti.  Keep them in a small dish, basket or baggie so that when you’re creating, you’ll have them at your fingertips.  Don’t cut all 8 sheets because the reverse side is also pretty and can be useful for backgrounds and such.  The beauty of this product medley is that Stampin’ Up also offers a refill kit of the consumables like designer paper, felt flowers and twine. YAY!

A Curvy Cactus Celebration

Thank you for bearing with me through the blog mistake from yesterday and for coming back today!  I appreciate everyone who visits and I enjoy hearing from so many of you…it always makes my day!  Mistakes are proof that I’m only human! 🙂

Until next time, I hope you stamp!
