Every year I participate as a vendor during a scrapbooking and crafting retreat at Seven Feathers Casino and Convention Center in Canyonville, Oregon. It is a 2 day event where croppers buy table space and spend the weekend scrapbooking, socializing and shopping. My Stampin’ Up team and I have a 30 foot booth with four Make & Take stations and all kinds of fun projects for attendees to sit down and make. That event is happening yesterday and today, and I always have so much fun! I’ll share some pictures of our booth in the next day or two. Meanwhile, I want to share one of my Make & Take projects.
This Cupcakes and Carousels mini album features Stampin’ Up’s Carousel and Cupcakes Designer Series Paper and Up & Away Thinlits Dies, as well as some various other dies. Finished album size is approximately 3 1/2″ x 6″.
I chose my colors based on the colors in the designer paper. They are Early Espresso, Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron and Bermuda Bay.
The base for this album measures 6″ x 11 1/2″.
On the 11 1/2″ side it is scored at 3 1/2″, 4 1/4″, 5″, 5 3/4″, 6 1/2″, 7 1/4″ and 8″.
You will need five tags made with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch.
You will accordion fold all of the score lines, pressing into place. It should look like a book now.
On the outside or spine of the book, you will glue together all of the accordion sections.
On the inside you will have the front cover, three little flaps and the back cover.
Choose two tags and glue them to the back of the first flap. One at the top edge and the other at the bottom edge of the album.
Glue a third tag to the middle of the second flap, on the back side.
Glue the remaining two tags to the third flap, one at the top and the other at the bottom (as on the first flap).
You will need four Designer Papers that measure 3″ x 5 3/4″. Glue these to the front & back covers on both the inside and the outside.
Cut four little strips of Designer Paper measuring 1/2″ x 1 3/4″. Glue these on the flaps between the tags.
Cut three 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ strips of cardstock which are to be glued to the flaps opposite of where the tags are glued. (see photos)
The rest is up to you. Embellish as desired. Add some little pictures. Journal. Give it as a gift or keep it for yourself!
Cut a 24″ piece of ribbon to tie around the album. The other ribbons can be cut to approximately 3″ and stapled to the tag tops.
