Wine Theme Framed Art
Today I am happy to share one of the 12 x 12 framed art pieces that I’ve been working on. This wine themed art uses multiple stamp sets, embossing folders, techniques, die cutting and even some fussy cutting (with scissors).
I’m offering this as a class for local residents, but if you’re not in western Oregon and want your own, you can purchase it ready-made from my Etsy store here.
The predominant colors in this piece are Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Crushed Curry. The canvas frame is painted with Burnt Umber acrylic paint, and the large background paper is vanilla with metallic gold accents.
Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing my coffee theme and ocean theme framed art pieces, and if you don’t want to miss them, consider subscribing to my blog. It’s fast & easy and you’ll never miss another post!
Thanks for stopping by today and may your glass always be half full!
Mediterranean Moments from Stampin’ Up!
Coloring made simple
Mediterranean Moments is a wonderful new stamp set featured in the Stampin’ Up 2017 Occasions Catalog. The images are very detailed, which are beautiful when colored in, but can also be intimidating if coloring is not your cup of tea.
I wanted my image to have a soft and dreamy feel to it, so instead of traditional coloring, I used sponge daubers. With just a touch of Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede, this Mediterranean scene beckons for a visit. To finish off the card, I pulled out some retired background stamps (French Script & Filigree) and used them on the banners.
I made a bow from some ivory organdy ribbon, but it was just too plain. To remedy that, I used my heat tool to melt the 100% Nylon ribbon, which gave the bow the vintage look I was hoping for. After adding a couple pearls to the pink banner, I gave this card two thumbs up. I hope you like it!
