I just love these new 2017-19 In Colors! Doesn’t the Lemon Lime Twist make quite the bold statement as a background for the Berry Burst/Powder Pink flower?
I used the same stamp for the background as was used for the leaves around the flower. The swirl in the center is the “negative” piece out of one of the swirly circles from Swirly Scribbles Thinlit Dies.
Summer time is my VERY favorite time of year and bright colors make me extra happy every day, in every season!
Enjoy the beauty of this season!
When I was a little girl, my sister and I would play outside and pick the flowers growing in the yard and then give them to our mom who would proudly place them in a vase. I’m pretty sure there were times when those flowers got tucked into our jacket pockets while we continued playing, only to be found later when they were thrown into the wash. We learned early on that mom didn’t like finding things in our pockets and that we were to check them before throwing the clothing in the laundry.
We lived in a small town that I would consider to be country living, (or pretty darn close to it!), so I wanted this card to have a country feel to it.
I used the Paisleys & Posies stamp set with Cherry Cobbler ink on Real Red card stock to create a bandana-looking background. The Soft Sky pocket was cut out with a die from the Pocket Framelit Dies, complete with side flaps that are glued down so that you really end up with a pocket to tuck things into!
I stamped the daisies (from Daisy Delight) on Daffodil Delight card stock with Night of Navy ink and then punched them out the the Daisy punch. Did you know that this punch is Stampin’ Up’s most popular punch in 5 years? It’s so popular that they haven’t been able to keep it in stock for any length of time since the new 2017-18 catalog started! More are coming into the warehouse soon, so you’ll be able to get one….if you don’t blink!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy Blooming Birthday!
Do you sometimes find inspiration for a project from unexpected places? I do and it happened for this card! I had just returned from my sister’s house and was putting away some crafting things while thinking about a card I wanted to make. My only dilemma was on the color scheme and as I reached to put away a “Thirty-One” bag, inspiration hit! It was from this bag that I chose my project colors:
My inspirational process…
My friend, Penny S., had recently commented that we hadn’t used her favorite stamp set in class for a while. She was right, so I knew that I wanted to use Flower Patch and it’s coordinating framelits, Flower Fair. I remembered that my downline and team member, Marie Green, had made a beautiful card with this set, so I refreshed my memory with her blog post found here and this Happy Blooming Birthday card is what happened. I shamelessly CASEd her layout (Copy And Share Everything)!
Satisfaction is a great feeling!
I was very happy with the results which made me fall in love all over again with this fabulous set! I’m so glad that Penny prompted me to use it again!
The colors I used were Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sugarplum, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Tip Top Taupe and Early Espresso. Silver sequins and thread add a little bling, which every project can benefit from while the espresso background is embossed with large polka dots.
I hope you stamp today! See you next time.
Stampin’ Up! Flourishing Phrases and the coordinating Flourishing Thinlits is destined to be one of my all-time favorites. The thinlits can be used without the stamp set, and with amazing results, I might add. But together with the stamps, it’s out of this world!! As you can see on this creation, the background is stamped while the focal point is a flower made with the thinlits.
For this card I paired our new In Color, Peekaboo Peach, with Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Soft Suede. The Layering Squares Framelits are stacked as a background for the die cut flower. The card is accented with gold baker’s twine (now retired) and gold sequins.

This card features the new Stampin’ Up! Best Birds Bundle which includes two bird stamps and five bird framelits. It’s a fun set with all kinds of possibilities and with a grandson on the way, I couldn’t resist making this baby shower/congratulations card. The mom & dad birds were stamped on watercolor paper and then colored in with an aqua painter, Sweet Sugarplum & Dapper Denim ink. The framelits for the birds and the branch make this a very quick and easy card with no fussy cutting whatsoever.
I used a retired set called Banner Banter for the “cute baby” banner at the top.

It’s time to deck the halls! This new stamp set, Peaceful Pines, makes the job easy with a variety of trees, accessories and sayings as well as the coordinating framelits.
Stampin’ Up! is spoiling us by having so many wonderful dies and framelits, and we now pout when we have to fussy cut! The framelits for Peaceful Pines do more than cut out, they make cuts inside, creating “fluffs” of texture and openings for light strings and ornaments. You have to see it to appreciate it!! Pretty clever, in my opinion.
If you look closely at the tree, you’ll see that I used the retired “Scallops” embossing folder.
I love working for an innovative company like Stampin’ Up and getting to play with such wonderful products every day! It’s the best job in the world .
