I had so much fun making this card for The Paper Players sketch challenge #323.
I enjoy starting my creative process with a sketch and this one was perfect for the lamb from Barnyard Babies. This stamp set was gathering dust on the shelf and needed some lovin’ and I’m so happy with the end result. I used a new product, Stitched Shapes Framelits, which puts a stitch line around the circles, ovals and squares in the set. It gives each shape a finished look, reducing the need for layering or sponging. After stamping the lamb in black ink, I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to properly place the Santa hat which is colored in with a red Prismacolor pencil. I used a grey pencil to shade around the lamb.
I wanted the pine boughs to blend into the background for a subtle effect, so I used Garden Green card stock on top of the Garden Green decorative paper from This Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper and then topped it with a red bow.
The fence was made with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies, which I purchased just for the fence! I knew it would come in handy.
