Balloon Pop-Up Thinlit Dies and Balloon Adventures stamp set in Oregon Duck colors!

Balloon Card in Oregon Duck colors!

On my last post from April 30, I showed you a Shadow Box Technique using this same Balloon Pop-Up Thinlit and I promised to show you what the die is actually made for.  So here we are today and I’m going to show you how fun and easy this is to do AND the die is currently 50% off while supplies last!  After viewing this, be sure to head to my store and purchase your own!  You can order them by clicking on these links: Balloon Pop-Up Thinlit and Balloon Adventures stamp set.

So let me show you how this thing works!  First you’ll need a piece of card stock that measures 8 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and you’ll fold it in half (or score at 4 1/8″).  I have highlighted the fold in red so that you can see it better, but you would not do this on your real card.  Good lighting over your Big Shot is a must for seeing the fold while lining it up!

Next you will line up the die with the red line.  The blue arrows show where to line things up.  The die should hang off the top and bottom of the card equally.

How to use the Balloon Pop-Up Thinlit by Stampin' Up

Run this through your Big Shot…

This is what you’ll get after it’s cut…you can see where the red line is and that becomes a “mountain” fold (up) while the score lines created by the dies edges become “valley” folds (down).

If you want to do any stamping, do it now, before you glue the pop-up panel to your card.  Balloon Adventures stamp set is made to coordinate with this, as is the Balloon Bouquet punch. When you’ve finished stamping, you’ll adhere the two side panels to a card measuring 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ which has been folded in half.

Wasn’t that easy?  Here’s the finished card again…

I used the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as a frame around the balloon.  It’s currently on sale for $3.75 while supplies last.

I hope you make time to stamp today!
