Last weekend was a busy one for my Stampin’ Up! team, the Regal Stampers, as we had our annual Create-Your-Retreat weekend, previously known as Scrapbook FunFest. This retreat takes place each Spring at 7 Feather’s Casino in Canyonville, Oregon. Cropping attendance is 200+ and then there are “walk & shoppers” who just come for a few hours to shop, take a class or do a few make & takes offered at many of the vendor booths. Croppers purchase table space and then bring their supplies to craft the weekend away…until midnight on Friday and 10 p.m. on Saturday! The convention center is huge and the room is lined with vendors, including our 30’x10′ booth. We have 3 make & take stations going around the clock with projects and demonstrators changing every 2 hours. It is a ton of work to prep for and I will admit to dreading it just a wee bit every year. BUT…once we get set up and the doors open, magic happens! The energy at the event is incredible and I’m always happy that I’m there, visiting, crafting and having a girls weekend with my team! I’m also amazed at how much stuff the croppers pack in. There are some serious crafters out there! During sleeping hours there are security guards that protect our precious possessions.
So what does that have to do with this card, you ask? Good question! I used some left-over class supplies to make some cards that I’ll have for sale in our booth and this is one of them. It uses the Joy Fold technique which you can find at SplitCoastStampers.
The crab is cut out by hand and then I added some wiggle eyes. I used some retired DSP, Maritime, along with Night of Navy card stock. Here are some more pictures…
